Pittsburgh, PA – Visvero announced today that it had won the highly prestigious Coast Guard account competing against five other service providers, the closest one being HCL Technologies. The account will build on Visvero’s existing government portfolio that already includes the Agriculture and Health ministries.
The Coast Guard has chosen Visvero to do an implementation that will enable faster reporting and timely decision making. Visvero will also build an application that will help the Coast Guard to capture important employee information and ensure a smoother payroll process for it’s over 5000 personnel.
Like several other government departments, the Coast Guard also faces the challenge of existing legacy systems that are difficult to support or modernize. Visvero believes that existing client investments in legacy systems should be leveraged and has helped several of its previous clients to do so. Visvero consultants plan to do this again for the Coast Guard by automating payroll forms from an old Foxpro package that is currently being used.
Visvero also aims to consolidate the database into a single repository of information that can be accessed easily. This will ultimately result in faster and more accurate information being available to the right person at the right time, an outcome that is of crucial importance to a body like the Coast Guard that helps to keep the nation’s boundaries safe.
